Organizational development objectives
Resource mobilization
We want to diversify and create a stable funding base for operational sustainability by:
• Developing key competencies in resource mobilization;
• Strengthening networking capacities and build more networks;
• Exploring opportunities for unrestricted grants;
• Seeking and developing strategic partnerships with donors and foundations; and
• Strengthening relationships with current funders or foundations (PAX and Misereor).
Institutional and human resource capacity development
We are seeking support for our institutional and human resource capacity development to:
• Enhance programme and administrative staff capacities in leadership and management;
• Foster institutional effectiveness in monitoring, evaluation and impact analysis;
• Mobilize adequate non-human resources and facilities for organizational efficiency and sustainability;
• Mobilize additional competent staff and volunteers;
• Strengthen staff welfare, motivation and retention schemes;
• Develop staff competencies in critical, technical areas of work; and
• Strengthen corporate governance.
Past Track Record of Work
• Founded in January 2015, AHD (formerly OPP) entered into partnership with PAX (a Dutch peace movement organization) since October 2016, to facilitate youth advocacy activities for social cohesion with a total grant (to-date) of over 300,000 Euros.
• In April 2018, AHD received a grant of 15,000 United States dollars from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for community cohesion advocacy in Rumbek, Western Lakes State. The project ended in September 2018, but negotiations are underway for further partnership.
• In January 2019, we entered into a 50,000 Euro grant agreement with MISEREOR (The German Catholic Bishops’ Development Service), to train young men and women in entrepreneurship and support them with seed grants for starting small businesses for immediate employment and generation of income, over the period 1st January 2019-31st December 2019. But negotiations are underway for further partnership.
• Implemented a six-month enterprise development project for persons with disabilities in Juba, a project worth 15,000USD over the period June 2020 to December 2020, funded by the German Embassy in Juba, South Sudan. The project trained 25 persons with physical disabilities in soap-making and craftwork, and provided them with enterprise start-up kits.
